Flatwound String Comparison on my P-Bass
This is a comparison between 3 sets of flatwound strings. Not the best sound, but you get the idea. My opinion: Chromes: medium-high tension, well defined tone, more highs than any other of these brands. Fenders: high tension, muddy tone (unamplified surprisingly lots of highs and highmids), but sort of cuts through. unfortunately they kill the destinct p-bass tone. Labella: lowest tension (even if heaviest gauge), very thumpy, less highs, just sits in the mix. all strings feel nice to me ...
